INAUGURAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES CLIMATE CHANGE MEETING

January 24-26, 2016

This meeting was a ground breaking event - bringing together Indigenous leaders from across Canada to discuss climate change and climate change policy in relation to the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). ICA partnered with Keepers of the Athabasca and local First Nations to begin developing an Indigenous Peoples’ strategy on climate change policy and lay the foundation for future collaboration.
