COP30 Day 1-3 | November 10-12, 2025
Eriel speaks at the Global Alliance on the Rights of Nature (GARN) Indigenous Council Gathering
Indigenous Peoples Pavilion opens at COP30 with no electricity, but we make it work as we always do.
In an interview with the Globe and Mail, Eriel shares Canada has been receptive to Indigenous proposals at the UN level but when it comes to implementation at home, it’s falling flat (Bill C-5 anyone? 👀).
Willo is nominated as the North American youth representative for the annual LCIPP Knowledge Holders Gathering from November 11-14, 2025. Watch their intervention from November 11.
Delegation join 200 boats with 5,000 Indigenous, riverine, and quilombola leaders as they arrived in Belem for COP30 bringing a powerful message demanding an end to Ferrogrão, industrial waterways, and the destruction of Amazonian territories.
Eriel shares an update on Indigenous participation and what’s at stake this year.
On November 12, Brazilian Indigenous and local community members breach UN security and enter the COP30 venue during a powerful unsanctioned action. Read the press release by IITCC and the Statement of Solidarity released by the IIPFCC.
People’s Climate March, November 15
Things Continue to Heat Up
COP30 Day 4-6 | November 13-15, 2025
ICA hosts webinar “Breaking Up with Bill C-5; Canada Uncommitted” to speak to the impacts on Indigenous territories and call out Canada on their climate commitments during COP30 (recording of the event will be shared to our Youtube later this week).
Willo joins an event with Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, Julie Dabrusin, to ask how their government can possibly meet their climate commitments or uphold our right to FPIC under Bill C-5. Watch their question here and their chat with Janell Lapointe following the event.
Delegation joins the People’s March on November 15 with an estimated 70,000 participants out on the streets of Belem. Watch Eriel’s check-in video during the march.
