Jasmine Jesso

Indian Head First Nation in Ktaqmkuk

Jasmine Jesso is a passionate mixed M’ikmaq/French land defender from Western Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland), unceded Indian Head First Nations Territory.  She's dedicated to honoring and protecting Mother Earth and all of her beautiful creations.
Jasmine works as a Land Based Mental Health Program Coordinator and has co-created an education-based platform called Newfoundland Naturals, to help people reconnect to the Land and on the land skills for self-sustainability as a part of their healing journey, food and healing justice.

As a self-educated individual, with a profound connection to the land, she continually strives to deepen her understanding of Mother Earth and the effects of human actions on our environment. With a mission to educate people on Climate Change, Cumulative Effects and empower others along the way.

She’s an Alumni of ICA’s Climate Leadership Program and RavenWater Learning Circle Level 1: Cumulative Effects. She’s a passionate advocate for mental health, human rights, the rights of all living beings, as well as food sovereignty and sustainability of our precious Earth.
