Dannielle Morrisseau (she/they) is a Métis-Cree woman from Treaty 2 Territory, also known as Brandon, Manitoba. A lifelong storyteller, Dannielle recently wrote her first play The Bottom Line, produced through the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre in Treaty 1 Territory (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
Their work centers on Indigenous storytelling, community connection, and social justice. Dannielle, partnering with the City of Brandon, has served as an Indigenous StoryTrail Leader, facilitating guided nature walks throughout Brandon that share Métis/Cree myths/legends, Indigenous based teachings, and medicine identification.
Her work emphasizes the importance of local environmental initiatives and examines the impacts of climate change at both the micro and macro levels. Currently, dannielle is a Master of Human Rights student at the University of Manitoba.
Dannielle brings extensive experience in community engagement, storytelling, and Indigenous rights, with a focus on Indigenous rights as a distinct and often separately treated branch of human rights within the context of so-called Canada.
