Sarah Hanson

Sarah Hanson is an Anishinaabe youth from Biigtigong Nishnaabeg who's community has led her region in asserting its sovereignty and inherent rights through Indigenous co-owned energy projects since the early 2000's. She is the Founder and Campaign Director of Mino Bimaadiziwin Collective, a new global Indigenous Youth organization to connect Indigenous Youth across regions, sectors, and justice movements. With a focus on Healing Justice, Mino Bimaadiziwin Campaign aims to ensure Indigenous Youth are acknowledged and supported to engage as their authentic Indigenous selves. 

As an Indigenous Youth Activist, Sarah has supported many youth climate organizations to meaningfully engage Indigenous Youth, including Youth4Nature, Leading Change Canada, Foundations for Environmental Stewardship and Youth Climate Lab. Through her work with these organizations, Sarah has been involved in work around Nature Based Solutions, Just Transition, Food Sovereignty, Climate Philanthropy, and Healing Justice.
