Hawthorne Armstrong
Hawthorne Armstrong (he/they) is Haudenosaunee, specifically Onyota’a:ka, from the Oneida Nation of the Thames, and is currently based in Windsor, Ontario, on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations — the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples, as well as many others. Their work is grounded in a commitment to Indigenous rights, environmental justice, and the well-being of community.
Hawthorne primarily works with youth experiencing homelessness or at risk, supporting them in building life skills, strengthening support networks, and working toward stability. Alongside this work, they collaborate with community organizations on various youth initiatives.
Holding a Human Services Certificate from Fanshawe College and a Child and Youth Care Diploma from St. Clair College, Hawthorne is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights with a minor in Gerontology. Through their advocacy, community work, and education, they seek to support Indigenous rights, uplift youth voices, and contribute to movements advancing environmental/climate work.
